The French love their carousels, and it’s hard to find a French town of any size that doesn’t have at least one. After all, what’s better than watching happy kids bobbing along on their wooden horses?  

Paris has over 20 carousels that are still active, with themes like the Belle Epoque, Jules Verne’s creations, and endangered species (anyone for a dodo ride?) I’ve highlighted nine of the best.
